How has your day been today?
What will your day be like tomorrow?
Have you ever drifted aimlessly through your day?

When you do something aimlessly, you have no plan or purpose. You might wander aimlessly through the zoo on a summer afternoon, not sure which animal you feel like looking at.

What are your plans for tomorrow?

In his book The 48 Laws of Power Robert Greene writes in law 29 ‘By planning to the end you will not be overwhelmed by circumstances and you will know when to stop. Gently guide fortune and help determine the future by thinking ahead’.

In the book 7 Habits of Highly Effective People Stephen Covey says in habit two ‘Begin with the end in mind.’ Dr Wayne Dyer wrote a complete book about The Power of Intention.

What does all this mean?

It means having a purpose. Clarifying your intentions  Know what you will do each day to reach the end.
Is having clarity of purpose. Having an end in mind a guarantee that you will reach it?
No it is not.
But not having clarity of purpose. Not having an end in mind is a guarantee you won’t.

It is time to stop living aimlessly. Without a clarity of purpose. Without an end in mind.
How will you know when you have reached your goal?
How will know when you have stepped off the track?

The simple answer is that you won’t know any of these things.
You will drift aimlessly through your life without a purpose, with no direction.
Then the time has gone.

Take some time now.

Take some time now to think about what you would like to do?
What will your end look like?
As Stephen Covey says ‘Begin with end in mind’.

Some suggestions for the end in mind.

Book that holiday.
Buy a new house.
Write a book.
Paint a picture.
Plan a new garden layout.
Spend more time with family.
Spend more time with friends.
Love yourself.

Whatever your end in mind might be. What can you do today and the next day and the next to move you in the direction that you want to go.

Have fun.
Be Happy – Be Inspired.
